More than 17 fraudsters have been arrested, interrogated with evidence and charged to court by security operatives after they have confessed to being guilty of extorting people by personation.

Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, disclosed this, in a statement, released via his official verified Facebook page, revealing that the suspects were falsely obtaining money from people by pretending to be him.

With the statement, Mr P attached the videos and pictures of the arrested suspects and disclosed that they have confessed, after thorough interrogation, that they are more than 100 who are taking part in the criminal activities.

According to him, they used to lie to people that his lottery company, Zoom is doing giveaways and with this, they will tell them to first send some money to them in order to claim their won giveaway.

Mr P, on several occasions, has announced to people that his company don’t do giveaways and anyone that doesn’t buy their ticket cannot win the lottery.

However, even though the singer has disclosed this, some people still fall victim to their scam.

Meanwhile, security operatives, having learnt about it, swung into action and they have finally nabbed some of the criminals behind it.

The statement reads:

“My dear Facebook people!
Take a good look at some of the fraudsters you are indirectly paying your hard earned money into the bank account they created all in the name of “ZOOM GIVEAWAY”!

“Over 17 of them have been arrested and interrogated with full evidence! They all confessed and have been charged to Court! And they since confessed in court that there are still over 100s of them out there!

This is another story for another day! Happy sunday👌🏾

@zoomupyourlife is not on WhatsApp, all tickets are purchased directly from our website at zoomlifestyle.com not by paying money into any account. They won’t still hear!🤮

“📌KINDLY NOTE: Zoomlifestyle is not an investment company nor a giveaway platform but a lottery company; we do not have any manager, we do not have any account number for payment neither does Mr P and Zoomlifestyle is not on WhatsApp.”

“All tickets are purchased directly from our website at www.zoomlifestyle.com not by making payment into any personal account (not even a Peter Okoye account) @peterpsquare will no longer call winners via video calls as a result of the increase in the rate of scammers using his previous videos/pictures to deceive people.”

“Please do not fall victim to online fraudsters; Zoomlifestyle will not be held responsible for any fraudulent transactions you have with fake social media accounts.”
