A former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Shehu Sani, has implored the National Assembly to take action on the ban the Nigerian Government laid on the usage of Twitter in the country.
Shehu Sani disclosed this in a tweet posted on his official Twitter handle, @ShehuSani.
The former senator, who described the ban as inappropriate, has called on the National Assembly to move a motion for the reversal of the ban because the ban is nothing but denial of fundamental rights.
He stated that the government does not have the right to forcefully dictate for the people of the country, where to speak or not to speak, noting that power needs to be guided by the constitution it derived its legitimacy.
