The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, have confirmed that they have settled the bonus of the Super Eagles’ squad that represented Nigeria in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation in Egypt.

It would be recalled that the NFF could not pay the bonus of the Nigeria National team players despite the fact that they concluded the tournament as the third best team following their 1-0 victory over Tunisia in the Third Place match.

However, One of the BBC’s correspondent, Oluwashina Okeleji, has today confirmed the announcement in a series of tweets posted via his official verified Twitter handle @oluwashina, where he disclosed that NFF has finally paid the bonus of the players that represented Nigeria at the 2019 Afcon, but it is unclear if the Head Coach, Rohr and the Goalkeeper trainer, Agu have also been paid.

The tweet reads:

The #Nigeria Football Federation (@TheNFF) has paid bonuses owed to the national team at the 2019 #AFCON in Egypt.

-19 months unpaid bonuses and allowances
-Gernot Rohr owed five months salary
-Keeper trainer Alloy Agu demands over 22-months of unpaid wages

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will now be approaching the forthcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2022 African Nations Cup which they have already qualified for with happiness as the their bonus payment have been confirmed by the country’s Football governing body, NFF.

Oluwashina also hailed the Nigeria FA boss, Pinnick, who he described as the leader that puts NFF finance challenges ahead of his Fifa bid.

This development will definitely high the morale of the players ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
