Meet the Man Who Hasn’t Bathed for 67 Years, and Enters Guinness World Records As the Dirtiest Man in the World (Video)

However strange it may sound, an 87-year-old man hasn’t bathed in 67 years. His name is Amou Haji; he lives alone in the deserts of Iran.

In our conventional world, people may sometimes skip having a shower in an extremely cold weather to avoid being frozen, or rather wait till when there is a considerable, favourable change in temperature for them to take their bath. You may, especially, be caught up in some dire situations, where you may go a day or two days maximum without showering, but not like staying a week or more without bathing.

However, it turns out that one particular man hasn’t bathed in over six decades. And that man is Amou Haji, an 87-year-old man who resides in Dejgah village in the Kermanshah province of Iran.

Reports have it that Haji has become so dirty that he’s always covered in ashes and dirts. He’s so scared of water that he believed he would immediately fall ill if he decided to take a shower.

What is even more unusual is that he hides from the people to avoid being compelled to take a shower, and as a result, he only feed on rotten meat of dead animals, especially porcupines. He also enjoys smoking, and wouldn’t reject tobacco as gift from people. But whenever he runs out of cigarette, he improvises by smoking animal feaces in a rusty pipe.

According to Tehran Times, Haji wears a war helmet to keep himself warm during the winter and lives in very unusual places like in a hole that resembles open grave and in broken and isolated houses built by people around.

His life took a dive into such a terrible state after he had a terrible emotional setback growing up. Haji was said to haven fallen ill after he took a shower sometimes when he was very young, and since then, he has developed phobia for shower. As a result, he subjected himself to an isolated life and never bath again.

Haji’s existence is that of a pity. He never had access to good water, but only drinks water from a large rust tin can, and whenever he feels like trimming his hair, he does so by burning them over a fire.

The news of Haji’s dirtiness spread so much that he was awarded the dirtiest man in the world by the Guinness Book of Records in 2020. Yet, he has not stopped his acts of dirtiness and still hasn’t taken her birth till now.
