Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated once again that his much publicized medical voyage abroad was only to repair his ankle, and that a Nigerian doctor from Ekiti state carried out the surgery on his ankle.

Tinubu, who simply put the name of the Medical Doctor as Doctor Oni, explained that those peddling falsehood about his health are mere detractors who are out to malign his personality, noting that he is healthy and fit as ever to serve the country to the best of his ability.

This is contained, among other things, in a video circulating online of his town hall meeting with the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers during one of his nationwide consultation tours for his presidential bid.

In his address, Asiwaju emphasized the importance of science and technology in the development of a nation, noting that his administration will engage the broad fields of technology in various sectors of the economy, of which agriculture and Industrial production are paramount.

He highlighted that the economic development of a nation centred around discovering what you can produce that will be marketable to the whole world. Tinubu explained further that Nigeria has a wide range of potentials that have not been harnessed, and that there is a need to go back to the drawing board and put all hands on deck to come up with economic policies that will make the nation prosperous.

Tinubu declaration about his choice of a Nigerian for his ankle surgery abroad, among the arrays of the world’s orthopedic surgeons, has upheld the much held belief that he has keen eyes for spotting the best brains in Nigeria and engaging them in the right capacity. He is such a man who will never abandon his own.
