Political game, which was known as a battle of wits, has now been reduced to mere theatrics. No thanks to Sahara reporters and Sowore, who have gone all-time low in introducing this new dimension into our politics. Instead of engaging political opponents on issue-based discussions, pettiness and smear campaign are now the order of the day.
Sowore and his New York based media outlet have thrown all caution into the wind by releasing a video alleging that Asiwaju Tinubu urinated on his body as a result of “Chronic Urinary Incontinence.” This was later followed by another video where Tinubu was reportedly going to the toilet to ease himself.
For any discerning mind, I cannot but say that Sahara Reporters has simply contradicted itself going by the contents of the two videos.
Urinary incontinence is the loss of bladder control that embarrassingly make you feel a sudden and uncontrollable desire to urinate. Anyone suffering from this would not even be able to make it to the toilet before urinating; and saying that Tinubu’s own is chronic tells you more. Therefore, if what was portrayed in the first video was true, how come Tinubu was seen going to the toilet to answer the call of the nature in the second video?

Now let’s go to the proper analysis of the videos: It could be seen from the first video released by Sahara reporters that there were water stains on the lower part of Tinubu’s cloth, but the fact is that such water stains could have come from anywhere.
Tinubu was in the midst of thousands of people gracing the occasion. Some of them holding their bottled waters, which could have accidentally spilt on Asiwaju’s cloth in the process. Moreover, it is common knowledge that where thousands of people gathered to welcome a great leader, water could have found its way on his cloth through sweat or any other means, and this could not have meant anything negative in a saner society, where people like Sowore who is now making issues out of it, would not be taken seriously.
Nonetheless, while justifying its position on the video, Sahara Reporters made a strong point that a certain Tinubu’s security aide was covering his nose as a result of perceived odour coming from his principal. How true is this? A quick check on the videos below will give us a clearer answer:
We can see clearly from the above that the security aide was only rubbing his hands on his mouth/jaw, a gesture he has consistently been making even when he was at a reasonable distance to Asiwaju. How this was now twisted by Sahara reporters smack of some ulterior motives, and that was very irresponsible and unfortunate.

Since when did we come this low? You said somebody couldn’t control his bladder and thus urinated on his body without limit, and you come again to show us when he was going to the toilet to answer the call of the nature; which do we believe then? This is simply how Sahara Reporters has been caught in the webs of its own lies.
Politics and leadership are a serious business that requires political stakeholders working round the clock to translate economic blueprint into physical and meaningful economic developments. This is what Asiwaju is working towards. Tinubu remains focused and not budged by any pettiness and irresponsible smear campaigns.
He has the brains and political will to re-write the history of Nigeria, and uplift her status from being just a country in Africa into becoming the hope and pride of Africa; a country that will be capable, in economic abundance, to provide succour for distressed Africans across the globe. Apparently, Tinubu is here for real business and not mere pettiness.
If Sowore is so desperately coveting the exalted post of Nigeria’s presidency, he should go out on the street to canvass for people’s vote. That is the only way he can achieve his aspiration. No amount of castigation, aspersion, pettiness or campaign of calumny against the person of Asiwaju Tinubu will offer him the exalted position on a platter of gold.
